This three-day advanced course covers advanced development topics such as architecting for a cloud-native environment; deconstructing on-premises, legacy applications and repackaging them into cloud-based, cloud-native architectures; and applying the tenets of the Twelve-Factor Application methodology.

Course Overview

In this course, you will learn how to:
• Analyze a monolithic application architecture to determine logical or programmatic break points where the application can be broken up across different AWS services.
• Apply Twelve-Factor Application manifesto concepts and steps while migrating from a monolithic
architecture.
• Recommend the appropriate AWS services to develop a microservices based cloud native application.
• Use the AWS API, CLI, and SDKs to monitor and manage AWS services.
• Migrate a monolithic application to a microservices application using the 6 Rs of migration.
• Explain the SysOps and DevOps interdependencies necessary to deploy a microservices application in AWS.

Intended Audience

This course is intended for:

Experienced software developers who are already familiar with AWS services.

• Interfacing with AWS Services
• Deconstructing a monolithic architecture
• Migrating to the cloud
• Creating an infrastructure
• Declare and isolate dependencies
• Storing configuration in the cloud
• Establish a build, release, run model
• Creating the codebase
• Deploying an application
• Evolution of architecture

Prerequisites

We recommend that attendees of this course have the following prerequisites:

• In-depth knowledge of at least one high-level programming language
• Working knowledge of core AWS services and public cloud implementation
• Completion of the Developing on AWS course, and then a minimum of 6
months of application of those concepts in a real world environment.

Eric is an amazing instructor. The class was very well informed and as someone who has been in this field for close to 14 years, I thoroughly enjoyed adding to my arsenal of tools. I especially like the option to view the class on recordings because for those of us deployed it’s extremely difficult for us to watch them live while on mission. Labs are ok, just wish there was more explanation to them from the lab material itself. The advantage of taking this course in a live classroom setting I’m sure. All in all I look forward to my CHFI class coming up Aug 17th. Thank you for all you guys do for us.

So, I have used ATA for several bootcamps and they have all been great. All the instructors I have had have been excellent. The staff is helpful and responsive. I have asked if a class could record sessions for me and they have reached out to the professor to get that done. I can't wait for their new AWS offerings.

I can't say enough good things about Applied Technology Academy. I require CompTia Security+ for my current job and this is the place that I went through to get it. Kim Locke was my initial contact that scheduled my class and J Chaney was my instructor and both are complete professionals. The quality of the class was unbelievable and totally prepared me for my S+ exam. I was very nervous about taking the exam but about half way through it I realized that J had nearly over prepared the class for success which is definitely the position that you want to be in. Overall, this is a top notch operation and I highly recommend them.

This school is hands down the BEST IT school I have attended for SEC+. I have attended SEC+ twice at Fort Gordon and the information that is taught there was so outdated. I appreciate Applied Technology Academy so much! I actually enjoyed the instruction, it was not hard to follow, and the instructor, Mr. Chaney, was extremely knowledgeable. He was able to communicate to the lowest level from Beginner to advanced. Our class had 100% pass rate of who took the exam after the course was over. After the exam I was able to contact the instructor and Ms. Liz Pernaselci for more information. I was provided with the audio from the course to go over in the event I needed to brush up. We are also allowed to log in to any SEC+ Course afterwards without paying an additional fee. I really appreciate this school and will be attending more courses in the future!

I had 0 computer knowledge or background going into the Security + class. J made it understandable and easily digestible. The classes were thorough and the study material was exactly what was needed to help prepare for the test. Cannot recommend this enough for people trying to get into the security field.

As an Aircraft Maintainer of 17 years, having little to no IT background, I was prepared to take Security + 2-3 times before passing after all of the stories I'd heard. I attended the bootcamp Applied Technologies offered for 1 week, and was BLOWN AWAY! The instructor was TRULY THE BEST! It was a ton of information. However, the way it was taught, broken down for anyone still having issues understanding, and the test prep was all outstanding! I have already got a friend to go and will be spreading the word to anyone else I know looking for any IT Certifications! Looking forward to other certifications and PMP myself! BTW, I didn't barely pass either...although only looking for a 750 to get by, I scored well over 800. THANK YOU TO THE BEST TEACHER I COULD ASK FOR!
