Course Overview

CompTIA Server+ is a global certification that validates the hands-on skills of IT professionals who install, manage, and troubleshoot servers in data centers as well as on-premise and hybrid environments.

CompTIA Server+ now features flexible training options including self-paced learning, live online training, custom training, and labs to advance the career development of IT professionals in server administration.

The course covers the server lifecycle in the following themes:

  • Server, virtualization, and security concepts
  • Managing physical assets, server hardware, and storage configuration
  • Installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining a server operating system

Managing data security, service and data availability, and decommissioning servers In addition, increased focus has been placed on the needs of virtualization in systems administration and troubleshooting is covered throughout the course.

Intended Audience

This Server+ training is considered foundational-level CompTIA training, which means it was designed for systems administrators. It is a valuable server technologies skills course for new IT professionals with at least a year of experience with proprietary and open source server technologies and experienced systems administrators looking to validate their CompTIA skills.

Prerequisites

To ensure your success in your course you should have 18 to 24 months of hands-on experience with installation, configuration, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of PC hardware and network operating system issues. It is also recommended that you have the CompTIA A+ certification or the equivalent training and experience.
