Course Objectives

In this course, you will learn how to:

Use the principal concepts and practices behind the DevOps methodology
Design and implement an infrastructure on AWS that supports one or more DevOps development projects
Use AWS CloudFormation and AWS OpsWorks to deploy the infrastructure necessary to create development, test, and production environments for a software development project
Use AWS CodeCommit and AWS CodeBuild to understand the array of options for enabling a continuous integration (CI) environment on AWS
Use AWS CodePipeline to design and implement a continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline on AWS
Use AWS CodeStar to manage all software development activities in one place
Implement several common continuous deployment (CD) use cases using AWS technologies, including blue/green deployment and A/B testing
Distinguish between the array of application deployment technologies available on AWS, including AWS CodeDeploy, AWS OpsWorks, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS), and Amazon Elastic Container Registry (Amazon ECR), and decide which technology best fits a given scenario
Use Amazon EC2 Systems Manager for patch management
Leverage automated testing in different stages of a CI/CD pipeline
Fine-tune the applications you deliver on AWS for high performance, and use AWS tools and technologies to monitor your application and environment for potential issues

Prerequisites

We recommend that attendees of this course have the following prerequisites:

Systems Operations on AWS or Developing on AWS
Working knowledge of one or more high-level programming languages, such as C#, Java, PHP, Ruby, or Python
Intermediate knowledge of administering Linux or Windows systems at the command-line level
Working experience with AWS using both the AWS Management Console and the AWS Command Line Interface (AWS CLI)

As an Aircraft Maintainer of 17 years, having little to no IT background, I was prepared to take Security + 2-3 times before passing after all of the stories I'd heard. I attended the bootcamp Applied Technologies offered for 1 week, and was BLOWN AWAY! The instructor was TRULY THE BEST! It was a ton of information. However, the way it was taught, broken down for anyone still having issues understanding, and the test prep was all outstanding! I have already got a friend to go and will be spreading the word to anyone else I know looking for any IT Certifications! Looking forward to other certifications and PMP myself! BTW, I didn't barely pass either...although only looking for a 750 to get by, I scored well over 800. THANK YOU TO THE BEST TEACHER I COULD ASK FOR!

J Chaney is highly knowledgeable and explains course material in a very comprehensive way. It is a lot of material for a one week course, but I felt that I was able to retain a good portion. Taking the Security + boot camp has me ready to tackle the test. ****Update**** I passed my test because of this boot camp on the first try. Well worth the time and money.

I can't say enough good things about Applied Technology Academy. I require CompTia Security+ for my current job and this is the place that I went through to get it. Kim Locke was my initial contact that scheduled my class and J Chaney was my instructor and both are complete professionals. The quality of the class was unbelievable and totally prepared me for my S+ exam. I was very nervous about taking the exam but about half way through it I realized that J had nearly over prepared the class for success which is definitely the position that you want to be in.
