Course Overview

The new CompTIA Linux+ is for the IT pro who will use Linux to manage everything from cars and smartphones to servers and supercomputers, as a vast number of enterprises use Linux in cloud, cybersecurity, mobile and web administration applications.

CompTIA Linux+ is the only job-focused Linux certification covering the latest foundational skills demanded by hiring managers. Unlike other certifications, the new exam includes performance-based and multiple-choice questions to identify the employees who can do the job. The exam covers tasks associated with all major distributions of Linux, setting the foundation for advanced vendor/distro-specific knowledge.

CompTIA Linux+ covers common tasks in major distributions of Linux, including the Linux command line, basic maintenance, installing and configuring workstations, and networking.

The Official CompTIA® Linux+® courseware builds on your existing experience with systems operations and administration to provide you with the knowledge and skills required to configure, manage, operate, and troubleshoot a Linux+ training environment by using security best practices, scripting, and automation. This course will also prepare you for the Exam XKO-004.

Prerequisites

To ensure your success in this course, you should have at least foundational experience with general systems administration procedures, some hands-on exposure to one or more Linux distributions, as well as knowledge of computing hardware and basic networking and cybersecurity concepts.

J Chaney is highly knowledgeable and explains course material in a very comprehensive way. It is a lot of material for a one week course, but I felt that I was able to retain a good portion. Taking the Security + boot camp has me ready to tackle the test. ****Update**** I passed my test because of this boot camp on the first try. Well worth the time and money.

I can't say enough good things about Applied Technology Academy. I require CompTia Security+ for my current job and this is the place that I went through to get it. Kim Locke was my initial contact that scheduled my class and J Chaney was my instructor and both are complete professionals. The quality of the class was unbelievable and totally prepared me for my S+ exam. I was very nervous about taking the exam but about half way through it I realized that J had nearly over prepared the class for success which is definitely the position that you want to be in. Overall, this is a top notch operation and I highly recommend them.
