VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) enables you to enhance and extend the capabilities of Microsoft® Excel® and other applications in the Microsoft® 365 application suite. You can use VBA to perform tasks that would be difficult or impossible to do using only worksheet functions, and you can automate a wide range of tasks so they can be performed faster, more consistently, and with less effort than performing them manually.

VBA with Microsoft Excel

This course will give you a good foundation for understanding, creating, and using VBA in your own Excel workbooks. You will learn how to use the macro recorder effectively, as well as how to write your own VBA code from scratch. You will use tools built into Excel to explore and learn VBA’s capabilities and to optimize and debug your code.

Course Objectives

In this course, you will develop and deploy VBA modules to solve business problems. You will:

Identify general components of VBA and their appropriate use in solving business solutions.
Record VBA macros to automate repetitive tasks.
Write VBA code to create VBA subroutines and functions.
Use various programming elements to solve problems through code, including variables, objects, conditional statements, and loops.
Eliminate, avoid, or handle errors in VBA code, and optimize its performance.

Audience

This course is primarily designed for students who want to gain the skills necessary to use VBA to automate tasks in Excel such as collecting data from external sources, cleaning, and manipulating data. The target student may also want to learn how to create custom worksheet functions to streamline worksheet formulas and make complex worksheets easier to support, maintain, and understand.

Prerequisites

To ensure your success in this course, you should be an experienced Excel user who is comfortable creating and working with Excel workbooks, including tasks such as entering worksheet formulas, using absolute and relative addressing, formatting cells, and creating pivot tables and charts. This level of skill could be acquired by taking the Microsoft® Excel® for Office 365 (Desktop or Online) courses, Parts 1, 2, and 3.

This school is hands down the BEST IT school I have attended for SEC+. I have attended SEC+ twice at Fort Gordon and the information that is taught there was so outdated. I appreciate Applied Technology Academy so much! I actually enjoyed the instruction, it was not hard to follow, and the instructor, Mr. Chaney, was extremely knowledgeable. He was able to communicate to the lowest level from Beginner to advanced. Our class had 100% pass rate of who took the exam after the course was over. After the exam I was able to contact the instructor and Ms. Liz Pernaselci for more information. I was provided with the audio from the course to go over in the event I needed to brush up. We are also allowed to log in to any SEC+ Course afterwards without paying an additional fee. I really appreciate this school and will be attending more courses in the future!

I can't say enough good things about Applied Technology Academy. I require CompTia Security+ for my current job and this is the place that I went through to get it. Kim Locke was my initial contact that scheduled my class and J Chaney was my instructor and both are complete professionals. The quality of the class was unbelievable and totally prepared me for my S+ exam. I was very nervous about taking the exam but about half way through it I realized that J had nearly over prepared the class for success which is definitely the position that you want to be in. Overall, this is a top notch operation and I highly recommend them.

As an Aircraft Maintainer of 17 years, having little to no IT background, I was prepared to take Security + 2-3 times before passing after all of the stories I'd heard. I attended the bootcamp Applied Technologies offered for 1 week, and was BLOWN AWAY! The instructor was TRULY THE BEST! It was a ton of information. However, the way it was taught, broken down for anyone still having issues understanding, and the test prep was all outstanding! I have already got a friend to go and will be spreading the word to anyone else I know looking for any IT Certifications! Looking forward to other certifications and PMP myself! BTW, I didn't barely pass either...although only looking for a 750 to get by, I scored well over 800. THANK YOU TO THE BEST TEACHER I COULD ASK FOR!

J Chaney is highly knowledgeable and explains course material in a very comprehensive way. It is a lot of material for a one week course, but I felt that I was able to retain a good portion.
